This Baked Cheese Sticks Recipe is a healthier take on fried Cheese Sticks. They’re filled with Ham & Cheese for a whole new flavor! It’s such a fun idea for a kids dinner, but you’ll want to sneak a bite or two.
We are BIG fans of mozzarella cheese sticks around here but I don’t really want to be feeding Henry a bunch of fried foods. These are the best of both worlds. They’re easy to make, super flavorful, full of melty cheese, and baked to perfection!
It’s like a ham and cheese sandwich, wrapped up into an easy (and fun) to eat stick.

What kind of dipping sauce do you use with this?
Any kind! I would recommend whatever you’d use in a ham and cheese sandwich!
Can these be made a day ahead. Bake and reheat next day? Just make but bake next day?
Taste best made fresh, but you can make it ahead!

Could you use crescent roll sheet dough cut into rectangles?
It will be different, but I am sure still tasty!
I tried baking and could not get them to brown, so I air fried them and they were yummy. Of course 2 mins too long, but I liked the crunchy texture
They look delicious to me!
how minutes and what temperature in the air fryer.
Can these be eaten cool if you put them in a school lunch?
I imagine! Depends on how picky the child is!
My wife made these today, she used turkey and smoked ham and added just a smidge of dijon mustard. Oh my they were great!

Do you think I could use the deli pepperoni instead of ham?
Sure thing! Make it like pizza!
These were exactly what I was hoping they’d be. I made them in the air fryer. 350°F for around 11 min. I omitted the garlic salt, but I think I will use it next time because they were missing a little flavor. I served with steamed carrots and broccoli and a maple Greek yogurt dipping sauce.
