You won’t catch me eating French fries without a flavorful dipping sauce. This fry sauce is so quick to put together, and it’s so tasty. Made with mayonnaise, ketchup, Buffalo sauce, pickle juice, Worcestershire, and spices, this creamy French fry dipping sauce packs a punch! I love that it only takes 5 minutes to throw together, and it’s so good I’m dipping more than just fries!

What are French fries without a good dip?! This creamy mayo and ketchup fry sauce is the perfect accompaniment to French fries, and I can’t tell you how easy it is to make! This is my go-to sauce for fries, and I always have to make extra!
What’s in This Fry Sauce Recipe?
- Mayonnaise: I highly recommend using real mayonnaise for this recipe. Real mayonnaise contains at least 65% oil by weight, making it super thick and creamy.
- Ketchup: Adds a sweet and sour flavor and helps give the sauce its signature orange color.
- Buffalo Sauce: Makes this sauce spicy and tangy and enhances the color. For bottled, I prefer Frank’s RedHot.
- Pickle Juice: Adds a sweet and briny flavor. I used the juice from bread and butter pickles, but sweet or dill pickle juice also works depending on which flavor you like best. For a chunkier texture, try adding some pickle relish.
- Worcestershire Sauce: Adds a hit of umami flavor to the sauce.
- Ancho Chili Powder: Enhances the spiciness of the sauce. If you can’t find ancho, regular chili powder also works well, although it is a bit less spicy.
- Seasoned Salt: Enhances the overall flavor of the sauce. I used Lawry’s.
- Ground Paprika: Adds a subtle sweet, earthy, and and peppery flavor and also enhances the color.

Tips for Success
- For a healthier option, swap some or all of the mayo for Greek yogurt.
- When I have fresh herbs on hand, I like to mince some up and add them to the sauce for a little extra flavor.
- The recipe is easily halved and doubled.
How to Store
Fry sauce keeps well covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. I always recommend giving it a little stir before serving.
