Chocolate Truffles Recipe

- ½ pound bittersweet chocolate 227 grams (8 ounces)
- ½ pound semisweet chocolate 227 grams (8 ounces)
- 1 cup heavy cream 227 grams
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract 2 grams
- 2 tablespoons Orange Liqueur (Grand Marnier) 28 grams, optional (SEE NOTE)
Optional Garnishes for Rolling
- Sprinkles
- Chocolate shavings
- Powdered Sugar
- Cocoa Powder
- Chopped Nuts
Chop the chocolate roughly and place it in a heat-safe bowl.
½ pound bittersweet chocolate, ½ pound semisweet chocolate
Heat the cream in a small saucepan set over medium-high heat just until it begins to come to a boil.
1 cup heavy cream
Remove cream from heat.
Pour the cream through a fine-mesh sieve into the bowl with the chocolate.
Whisk the cream and chocolate together until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Add the vanilla and liqueuer (if using). Continue Stirring.
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons Orange Liqueur (Grand Marnier)
Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour to stiffen.
With 2 teaspoons, spoon round balls of the chocolate mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Roll each ball of chocolate in your hands to roughly make a round ball.
Roll in powdered sugar or whatever toppings you choose (sprinkles, chocolate, nuts, etc.)

- NOTE: The Orange Liqueur is optional. You can leave it out altogether or even use other flavors such as hazelnut or raspberry extract. Feel free to get creative!
- Be sure to use a good quality chocolate that you love!
- If your truffles still seem too soft after chilling, add in 1 tablespoon of melted butter or coconut oil, stir to combine, and let chill for an additional 30-60 minutes.
